It's all about the Beauty...

Crystal Peak is one of the most serene sights i have found within the Toiyabe National Park.

This peak overlooks Reno, NV and the California stateline. It is a great place to relax and soak up all that nature has to offer in this unbridled wilderness within the National Forest lands.

My name is Bear and I control things...

I live across the street from Susanna and I am all about exploring everything. I am a 4 yr old chocolate lab and I very rarely stay still. Its all about movement and the open road for me... I hope everyone can keep up.

US Coast Guard Auxiliary - Flotilla 4-2

Volunteers like the Brody Family help to support the peacetime and safety operations of the United States Coast Guard in Rochester and its surrounding waterways.

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary was established by Congress in 1939 to assist the Coast Guard in promoting boating safety. It includes more than 30,000 members.... from all walks of life who receive special training so that they may be a functional part of Coast Guard Forces. Auxiliarists assist the Coast Guard in non-law enforcement programs such as public education, vessel safety checks, safety patrols, search and rescue, maritime security and environmental protection and Coast Guard Academy introduction programs for youth. Auxiliarists volunteer more than 2 million hours annually to benefit other boaters and their families

The Urban Tabby Tiger - "BJ"

BJ

Most people who call my house think I have a roommate but in actuality mailbox #2 is for this guy. My dad started that by leaving messages for him when he was looking for me.

"BJ", short for "Bill the Cat Jr." has been with me since he was 10 weeks old. I wanted a dog but I was in a city apt. so I have a cat who acts more like a Tiger than a house cat. My first cat was also his 1/2 brother. He was "Bill the Cat".

BJ plays fetch, protects the homestead and chases bird's between our picture windows. At 14, he finds that sleeping on the waterbed is now one of his favorite activities.

In last year's check-up the Vet asked what I had been doing to him. I said nothing except he went from 600 sqf to run in to 2100 sqf. They were trying to figure out how he lost 1 1/4 lbs. He's on a new exercise program now that we have a house - stairs and all.

A few years ago I put a webcam in my bedroom to see what he did while I was at work. Go figure, he sleeps so he can run and jump on the waterbed all night long!

Escorting the Rochester - Toronto Ferry

The Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary are responsible for the safety and protection of the Ferry as it enters the Port of Rochester.

Escorting the Ferry in and out of the Port is just one of the many duties these two organizations perform as part of their Homeland Security directives.

Both views are from one of the escort facilities as they perform those duties.
